The logo was made of five squares - one primary and four secondary. With their rotation the squares make a graphic form of the sun, thus symbolically suggest summer. The internal space of the sign in the negative forms a circle that directly symbolizes the first letter of the city of Osijek "O". Each square inside the logo is of different colors, which aims to emphasize the diversity of the cultural program: shows, performances, exhibitions, concerts, literary and film evenings.

The city of Osijek has declared the year 2014 the “Year of Julius Knifer”.

The visuals of OLJK 2014 arise as the inspiration of Knifer’s meander and its methodology of artistic creation. For Knifer, meanders represent different streams of creative thought, which in the new context of the visuals for OLJK assume the flows of various cultural events and the creative flows. With the imitation of the coloured meanders that overlap we create the symbolism of selection of cultural events we want to see. In addition to it, the graphic motifs of the meander create flows and interesting association research, transience and reflections on the work of art and its importance in the context of culture. With the meander we also want to popularize the cultural and artistic history of the city of Osijek, as well as remind and educate citizens about the artist like Julius Knifer.
